Pearce proposes a holographic model of the universe and discusses some of the features of human physiology that make resonant viewing possible. The book contains a satisfying blend of theory and practical examples. Pearce makes a convincing argument that humans will live up to their evolutionary potential only when they develop their intuitive faculties.

This is an excellent overview of the Toltec way of life and a practical guide to freedom and self-empowerment. Don Miguel counsels each of us to examine our beliefs, words, and actions as a way of breaking the domestication process that each of us has succumbed to. The Toltec path is a path of personal freedom where literally every thought, idea, and emotion we feel is subject to scrutiny. Freeing ourselves requires us to maintain our impeccability at every instant in our lives and foster creative awareness that accompanies self-responsibility and constructive intention. Don Miguel offers prescriptions for overcoming the chaos of Mitote, the illusion of external reality that we substitute for an authentic knowledge of the self.

Since writing Planetary Intelligence, I came across a wonderful resource that supports and expands upon the same ideas I put forward. Hare Brain, Tortoise Mind: How Intelligence Increases When You Think Less by Guy Claxton shows how our “undermind”, as Claxton calls it, is a supermind that is capable of astounding feats of thinking skill. While we have all been trained in the ways of fast-thinking, Claxton shows how slow thinking is more able to deal with ambiguous and paradoxical situations. Confusing and uncertainty often lead to more original, creative thinking than calculated, linear, rational thought. Claxton’s book goes a long way in showing us the power of process-oriented thinking and the benefits of slowing down to a more natural pace of life.

An amazing account of the medical work of Dr. Fritz: a German surgeon from WWI who has incarnated in human form five times to demonstrate miraculous healing abilities in ordinary people. Maki originally went to Brazil in the hopes of debunking Dr. Fritz but ended up with the complete conviction that the phenomena is for real: over one million people have been helped by Fritz, including cancer patients who had previously been deemed terminally ill. The book attests to the reality of the hidden realms of energy and spirit that constitute and interact with our physical bodies. The episodes documented in the book also confirm our ability to use life-energy creatively and constructively. The Dr. Fritz phenomenon defies reason and that is what makes it so important for us to understand it.

Russell Targ’s latest book is a broad-ranging, indepth coverage of remote viewing and nonlocal consciousness. As one of the original RV researchers, working with natural psychics such as Pat Price and Ingo Swann to develop standardized remote viewing protocols and testing procedures, Targ knows his way around the subject matter in all its aspects. From some of the early RV experiments in the 1970′s to the most recent studies in distant healing, some of which were conducted by his daughter, Elizabeth, Targ covers a whole gamut of related consciousness topics, including after-death communications and the incredible research of F.W. Meyers. But most importantly, Targ has an important message for us: to quiet our noisy minds, transcend our personal stories, expand our awareness, and merge with the larger consciousness of the universe. It is a timely message and one that stands out throughout the all of his recent writings: a legacy of decades of research into the nature of consciouness. I recommend Limitless Mind for readers who are new to the subject and also to more experienced researchers who want to be reminded of what a vast subject area the study of nonlocal consciousness encompasses. Overall, this book is a gem.

This book is both an excellent introduction to humans’ ability to access nonlocal consciousness and also a cogent synthesis of the fields of remote viewing and spiritual healing. This work goes farther than previous books about RV, in part due to Targ’s freedom now to talk about previously classified projects. The book also provides a theoretical background based on Ayruvedic principles. Included in the book are reproduction of some of the original RV work done by Ingo Swann, Pat Price, Hella Hammid, and Keith Harary.

While McMoneagle doesn’t actually tell the reader how to do remote viewing, his breadth of experience is apparent in this detailed tome. Both beginning and experienced remote viewers will find useful tidbits and, indeed, “secrets” of the trade within these chapters

This book offers an excellent discussion of the limit’s of our conscious mind and the power of our subconscious processes. Norretranders, a Danish science writer, presents a wide array of scientific evidence showing that our conscious mind makes up merely a fraction of our total mental processes: the linear world that we consciously perceive is an illusion, a mental construct, not a physical reality. Information takes many forms, only some of which is accessible by the conscious mind.
